TU Talks is a series of bitesize videos exploring a range of key challenges facing the NHS. We offer practical insights, tools and approaches to empower change from within.
Our first episode, Understanding Demand for Lung Health Checks, is hosted by one of our team of transformation consultants, Elliot Royle. It focuses on our work to support the West Midlands Cancer Alliance to model future demand for lung screening and the lung cancer pathway.
Key topics discussed:
- Screening programmes and early detection: Using the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check Programme as an example: we discuss the importance of screening programmes in improving patient outcomes
- Using Discrete Event Simulation (DES) modelling for strategic planning: How we built a DES model for WMCA helping them to anticipate future demand and plan efficient, responsive services.
- Our wider transformation support: Other examples of how our demand modelling expertise can support organisations through transformational change, improving patient access, outcomes and experience.
